Orthopedic Appointment
Dr. Bagley noticed in the hospital after Jake was born that his feet, especially his right foot, turn in slightly. They are not too rigid, meaning that they are flexible enough to be moved into place with your hands, but she still wanted to keep an eye on them. At his two month check up, she didn't see a whole lot of improvement, so she referred us to an orthopedist. That appointment was today and it went well. It's called metatarsus adductus and Jake's is very mild. The orthopedist doesn't think he will need any casting or anything like that, but he did show me some stretches to do several times a day and we'll also be going to physical therapy 1 - 2 times a week for the next couple of months. I'm guessing this will involve more stretching, etc... He'll be able to walk just fine and everything. He just might be a little pidgeon toed, but, then again, he may not be. We'll just have to see. Not a big deal.
