Pregnancy - 34 Weeks

Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. His fat layers — which will help regulate his body temperature once he's born — are filling him out, making him rounder. His skin is also smoother than ever. His central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.

How far along? 34 weeks
Total weight gain: 32lbs
Sleep: not great
Favorite moment this week: seeing Jake during the ultrasound and learning he is healthy
Movement:  lots. some of the movements are starting to be a little painful but I still love them.
Symptoms: slow moving, heartburn, hip pain, poor sleep, swollen feet/ankles, braxton hicks contractions, pelvic pressure
Food cravings: ice cream
Food aversions: none
Gender: BOY!!!!
Labor Signs: none, but LOTS of braxton hicks contractions
Belly Button in or out? out
What I miss: being able to get comfortable
What I am looking forward to:  finishing the nursery. we're almost there.
Weekly Wisdom:  if it doesn't matter, don't sweat it.  (I am not so good at this)
Milestones: Just 6 more weeks until due date!  EEEEEEEEEE!!!!

Still feel great in general, just very slow and I am easily exhausted.  I am still enjoying being pregnant despite the symptoms of being this far along.  I know I will miss it when it's over.
