Pregnancy - 25 Weeks

Baby's now the size of an eggplant!  (weeks 25 - 28)
Let your spouse put an ear to your belly -- he might be able to pick up baby's heartbeat (no stethoscope required). Inside the womb, the formation of tiny capillaries is giving baby a healthy pink glow. Baby's also soaking up your antibodies, getting the immune system ready for life outside the womb. Eyes are forming, and baby will soon perfect the blink -- perfect for batting those freshly grown lashes.

How far along? 25 weeks
Total weight gain: 19 lbs
Sleep: so so
Favorite moment this week: hearing Jake's heart beating
Movement: lots!  He's getting stronger and stronger every day!
Symptoms: back aches, occasional swollen feet/hands, weird dreams
Symptoms I DON'T have:
Food cravings: nothing in particular
Food aversions: none
Gender: BOY!!!!
Labor Signs: too early
Belly Button in or out? 1/2 and 1/2
What I miss: sweet tea
What I am looking forward to: 28 week ultrasound
Weekly Wisdom: trust that things will work out
Milestones:  Not really a milestone, but the baby is viable now meaning he could survive if delivered now and the chances of survival increase with each week.  We're obviously praying for and counting on a full term baby, but it's reassuring to know these little facts.

Feeling great!
