Jake has recently started really showing that he understands what some things are and what you're supposed to do with them.
examples:
He puts his hair brush on his head.
He lays his socks on his feet and then stares at them wondering why they're not on. (this is hilarious to watch)
He does the same thing with shoes.
He puts his spoon into a container and then puts it into his mouth (whether or not there's any food on it)
He also likes to balance things. He's pretty rough with his toys and I'm surprised there aren't marks all over our floors from him dropping his toys on them all the time. But, if he setting his cup or something down on the table or ottoman, he'll hold his hands out as if to steady whatever it is and then back away slowly. And then he is so pleased if it stays.
He likes to clap for himself or just clap to clap. He likes to do "the indian". He likes to dribble his lips with his fingers. Sometimes he'll dance if the mood strikes him. He'll wave and say "da da" (bye bye?). And he'll blow kisses if you show him first.
There are so many new challenges now that we have a "toddler", but watching him learn makes it all worth it!
I am so glad to have this blog. I don't ever want to forget these little things.
