Jake - 12 Months!!

HOWWWWWW are you ONE YEAR OLD???????

• You are everywhere and into everything!  We got some baby gates to keep you confined to just a couple of rooms.  We have put latches on the cabinets and drawers and have taken non baby friendly items out of your reach.  You have SO MUCH ENERGY!
• You love to eat and are not picky.  I hope this doesn't change.  We're done with baby food.  For breakfast you either have oatmeal with fruit or a wheat waffle with fruit.  Lunch and dinner are combinations of chicken, turkey, cheese squares cut up, any fruit, avacado, black beans, pasta, and any vegetable.  Snack is yogurt with puffs or grain cheerios.
• You've been waking up closer to 6:45, which is so much better than 6:00. 
• Schedule: Starting now, you'll get whole milk.  No more formula or bottles!
• You're in 18m and 24m clothes.  size 4 diapers and size 5 at night.
• You have 7 teeth, 4 on top and 3 on bottom.
• You like to play with your toys and cruise the furniture.  You love balls, phones, remotes, plastic bottles, and banging on the laptop. 
• You love me to read to you in the rocker before bed.  You point to the pages and turn them, too.  You love for me to brush your teeth because you think the toothpaste tastes good.  You just suck on it.
• You are very content and laid back.  This may/will change, but you are so good at restaurants and in public.  You just go with the flow.
• You're just a very happy little boy, but, when you're not, the world knows.
• You can stand on your own from the middle of the floor, and have taken steps, but you aren't ready to walk consistently.
• You are so tough and just get right back up when you fall down.
• You wave bye bye sometimes and you play peek a boo sometimes.  You always enjoy watching us play it, and sometimes you join in and duck down and pop back up and you laugh and laugh!  You like to clap when you're excited or when people are laughing at you.
• You babble a lot especially saying mamama and dadada.  Sometimes with meaning and sometimes not.
• You make a really loud inhale sound when you're really excited and anxious at the same time. (like when you're not sure whether or not to pet a dog) 
• You had your ear tube surgery yesterday and did wonderfully.  You were cranky right afterwards, but you're so tough! 
• I can't believe you're not really a baby anymore, but you'll always be my baby.
