The Cord Fell Off

Since my last post a few hours ago, Jake's umbilical cord fell off.  I realize this is not something which would cause most people to become sentimental or post about even, but it dawned on me that it's kind of sad and wonderful at the same time.
There went the lifeline which gave Jake everything he needed to grow into the perfect baby he is.  He is his very own person, his very own soul.  I can't wait to see what impact he makes on this world.
