She was one of a kind, a true Southern Belle. We all had so many laughs over her sweet voice and priceless sayings, but no one laughed louder than she did at herself. I've never known a more selfless person. She was so special to so many people and so many people were so special to her. She was crippled at a young age and, even though she endured over 40 operations and suffered so much pain her whole life, she was always more concerned for others than for herself. She never let anything stop her from being active and involved in the lives of her family and countless friends. Our burdens were her burdens and our joys, hers.
She was so proud of her children, grand daughters, and great grandchildren. She fussed over us all but no one more than her Manning, my Papa. Let's pray for peace within him in the coming days as he finds a new normal and, God willing, a new independence.
Grammy loved our God with all her heart. Praise Him for her life which was in Jesus' likeness.
Sunday morning, my beautiful Mama and Jesus were standing with familiar eyes, beaming grins, and open arms waiting to embrace my sweet Grammy as she walked, with no limp and no pain, through the gates of Heaven. Praise God for this knowledge, as it is my happiest thought.
