Jake - 9 months

• This is the most fun stage.  You are crawling (army style), but you aren't quite into everything yet so we're not chasing you around a whole lot.  You mostly want to either crawl after your toys or crawl to one of us.  You are happy and content and trying new things all the time.
• your schedule hasn't changed really from last month. You wake, on average, at about 6:30 and go to bed at 7pm. You take 2 or 3 good naps a day.  You've started skipping the late one recently.
• You take a 7oz bottle every 4 hours and have a solid breakfast, lunch, and supper.  You just started having some table food and are liking it!  You've only had a few things so far; yogurt puffs, nutrigrain bars, fruit, crackers, pieces of shredded cheese.
• You are in size 4 diaper and size 5 at night
• 18m clothes (some 24m)
• You are babbling up a storm.  You've had a few consonants down pat for a while, but, until now, you would only "say" them sporadically.  Now, you love to repeat and repeat.  ba ba ba ba ba, da da da da, dittt, dittt,  mamamama, deh, guh, etc... with many different inflections and volumes.  We love it.
• You love to sit on the floor and play with your toys and then chase them when they roll away. 
• You have the army crawl down pat and are really quick.  You are trying more and more with your knees and you'll be there in no time.
• You can sit up on your own from laying down.
• We're working on sippy cups.  You have a few different kinds.  You know how to hold them and to turn them up, but you haven't quite figured out how to draw the water out of them.  You like us to hold our cups to your mouth to let you have a sip of water.
• You are taking a bath in the big bath tub now.  You look so small there.  You don't seem to have any feelings about it either way as long as you have toys to gnaw!
• 7 out of 10 times, changing a poopy diaper is your (and my) worst nightmare.  You act like I'm torturing you and we both end up with poo on our hands and all over the changing pad.  It's not looking like you're ever going to get used to it, but I guess I wouldn't really like it either, so I can't blame you.
• Diaper theatrics aside, you are a happy go lucky baby.  All it takes is to look at you and you just smile ear to ear.  Of course, like everyone, you have your moments, but I wouldn't describe you as anything but sweet and happy (and maybe a little bit stubborn).
• The most common thing people comment about when we're out are your big, beautiful blue eyes.
• Jake, if I could kiss your sweet cheeks (and mouth, too!) all day long, I would!  You are the sweetest little boy in the wide world and I feel so lucky that God chose me to be your mama.
