We had such a great trip to Edisto! Rick and Kathy are so kind to let us stay in their beautiful home.
Jake loved spending time on the beach and walking and floating in the inlet at low tide. He loved checking the crab trap for crabs and doing all the fun things around the house and on the beach. He played a lot of pool and liked climbing up to the crows nest for the best views around! One night, the stars were so breathtaking that John and I decided to wake him up at 11pm and take him up there to see. He wasn't so happy about it at the time, but he keeps talking about it, so maybe it will be a happy memory after all.
Hamp loved the beach, as well. He really enjoyed eating sand and coating himself in it as much of it as possible before climbing on my lap. He liked sitting in the inlet water at low tide and licking sea shells. And of course he liked playing with Lilly. He LOOOVES her. He had a great time and wore himself slap out each day.
We finished the week off on the 4th with a full day on the beach (Hamp lasted several hours on the beach that day, which was wonderful!!)
We had a great time with the boys and Kiki and Poppy. The beach was beautiful and we enjoyed a few boat rides, too.
Edisto is the best.
(The pics are in reverse order because of how you add pictures on blogger and it's just easier to do it that way when you add a lot of pictures from your phone.)
Fell asleep before we crossed the bridge off of Edisto. Big week for our big boy.

| the inlet in front of the house makes for great paddle boarding and feeds right into the ocean. it's great swimming/wading at low tide at the mouth. |

Hamp and Lily, best friends.
Hamp pretty much rips Lilys's face off every chance he gets, but she keeps going back for more. |
 |
| Oh how he loves her. |
 |
| It's hard to hear the ocean in a shell when the real ocean is right there. |
 |
| Hamp takes on the Atlantic for the first time and loves it. |
 |
| Hamp's a little short in the hair department and refuses to wear a hat for more than 30 seconds at a time, so I have to lather his head/hair in sunscreen. Add the sand from the beach and this makes for an awesome paste that is so much fun to try and get out at bath time. ha! |
