Jake's Birthday Weekend!

What a great day!

 

We rented a bounce house/waterslide for Jake’s birthday party and hosted out at the farm.  We invited his classmates and some brought siblings, so we had about 15 kids total.  They played in the bounce house and had the best time bouncing and sliding for a long time and then we took a break from that to take a ride around the farm.  Then we came back and had cake and pizza and the bouncing/sliding resumed for those who wanted to stick around for a little bit!  It was SO much fun!  The kids loved it and we had a great time, too!  I am so thankful for the sweet friends we’ve made through our preschool.

 

I didn't get great pictures, unfortunately.  Some were fogged out because my camera had been inside and I failed to get all his little friends lined up for one good shot.  Oh well.

After the party (and a long nap for Jake), Jake and John geared up for their first ever Father/Son camping experience.  Jake was thrilled with the tent we got him for his birthday and he was serious about helping John set up the site (which was on the farm).  He helped make the ring for the fire and bring the fire wood over and he was sure to pack his favorite birthday loot to play with in the tent.  They had a fire and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows, took a few nature walks, played in the tent, and read books.  Around 9pm, which is late by Jake’s standards, they decided together that it was too hot to spend the whole night out there and headed into the house to spend that night in the AC.  It was still so much fun for them both and they will try again in the fall when it’s a little cooler.

When they got home the next morning (on his actual birthday), I had a muffin with a candle (per his request) ready for Jake to eat for breakfast.  He had the best day playing with all of his new birthday toys! 

 

I am so glad the whole weekend went off without a hitch and that Jake had the time of his life!
