Jake at 3: He is such a happy little boy. Of course he has his melt downs and stubborn moments, but he really is a pretty laid back, happy-go-lucky little one. He is so sweet will tell me he “wubs” me or that he missed me while he was at school. He lights up when I walk in his room to get him in the mornings just like he has since he was a baby. He has a very kind hearted disposition. He is so funny and totally gets what will make us laugh. He will talk in funny voices or make funny faces or just say stuff that he knows is completely off the wall. He loves to make us laugh. He is so smart and is enjoying school. He started the 3's class this morning and he was so excited!
It’s amazing the difference a year has made with his language. He can carry on full conversations and just amazes me every day with how much he’s able to communicate and understand. He is an absolute sponge right now.
He is a chatterbox and is so curious! He is active and loves to be outside and play. I am so excited about the fall so we can enjoy it even more. He loves to rough house with Daddy and it is so fun to watch. He is usually a little slow to warm up to strangers or people he hasn’t seen in a while. He sticks close to me until he’s ready. Once he’s comfortable, he’s all out!
Right now, he’s into tractors and dinosaurs. He can tell you the names of several dinosaurs and loves to play with them. His favorite shows are Octonauts and Peppa Pig.
He wakes up between 6:30 and 7 each morning and has breakfast. He naps after lunch for about 2 hours. He goes to bed between 6:30 and 7 each night. I lay in bed with him for a little while and read a few books. Then we say prayers and sing a song. He has no problem staying up later if we have something going on and I’m thankful that he’s so flexible. He is completely potty trained and that has been wonderful! He is a pretty picky eater right now, but he’ll get over it in time.
He is very excited about turning "free" and being a "big boy now". Words cannot express how much I love this little boy.
His Check Up went very well. He is right on target and Dr Castles said he exceeds most 3 year olds in speech and was impressed with his personality. There's no better feeling than a clean bill if health for your child!
