Jake has been coughing during the night for the past few nights, but, yesterday, he came home from Bea's with a 102.6 fever. His cough was worse and his breathing was pretty labored.
We took him in to the doctor's office at 6:15 last night and Dr. Castles said his breathing was terrible and that he was wheezing like crazy. He sent us home with a nebulizer and a steroid prescription. I did the nebulizer every 4 hours over night and took him back this morning for a follow up.
He was some better, but we still have to give him the nebulizer treatments 4 x per day through Tuesday and 4 more days of the steroid. We follow up with the doctor Tuesday.
Please pray that Jake gets used to the nebulizer treatments. Right now, he acts like it is pure t. torture.
If you were around Jake, you would never guess he was sick. Even when he had such a high fever. He is such a trooper (except for the nebulizer treatments. I feel sure he woke the neighbors at 3am).
Somebody please tell me that, ONE DAY, Jake will be able to go at least a month without some kind of something. The most important thing is that he doesn't seem to know he's sick or feel too bad usually, but it is driving this mama crazy!
Everyone says it's because he's in daycare and that, by the time he gets to school age, he'll have it all out of his system.
I really hope so.
