Hamp is 2

How on earth is our baby 2 years old!?!

Hamp's 2 year check up went very well.  He is 28.25lbs (53%) and 34.5in tall (62%) and very healthy.

The check up itself was kind of rough, as Hamp is now terrified of being touched by anyone in a doctor's office setting (understandable), but that's ok.

Hamp is happy and full of life.  He is very expressive and inquisitive.  He is constantly asking questions.

Ooh is basically what he says for "where", "what", "how", etc...
He is constantly asking "ooh Daddy (or Jakey, or whoever)" (where's daddy, etc...) or "ooh happen?" (what happened).

He is talking more and more.  A lot of it is tough to understand, but he is getting better and better.  He loves to sing The Wheels on the Bus, Jesus Loves Me, and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.  The other day he was singing Ring Around the Rosie.

He is unable to make the "tr" sound and replaces it with the "f" sound.  He loves to point out trucks (real and toy) all the time.  Hearing a toddler cussing all day, none the wiser, is hilarious and I'm not sorry for thinking so.  It'll pass soon enough, I'm sure.

He loves to eat and would eat 'round the clock if we'd let him.  He's not really picky at all (yet anyway).

He is happy, but is entering a bit of a whiney phase.  Jake did the same and it was short lived, so hopefully Hamp's will be, too.  I think a lot of it is just frustration due to communication limitations.

Tell this child no or reprimand him in any way and he will give you a pout face that rivals any you've ever seen.  It is deadly.  (Almost) makes you want to spoil him rotten.

He loves to run and climb.  He doesn't really have any favorite types of toys (example: Jake was super into trucks and tractors at that age). He loves his toys, but nothing really that he goes to all the time.  He just likes to be where the action is.

He likes to dump water on Jake's head in the bath and thinks it is so funny.  He watches everything Jake does and loves him so much.

He protests clothes changes and diaper changes, which is frustrating, but he won't be in diapers and need dressing forever, so there's that.

He brings so much joy and laughter to our lives every day and I can't imagine life without our little Hamp bringing up the rear.  He is along for the ride in everything we do and happy as a lark.

We love you, baby boy, more than you'll ever know.
