Hamp is doing great!
-He is wearing size 9mo clothes. Some six months fit, but most are a little snug in the diaper area. I've put him in some 12mo stuff, but it's pretty loose.
-He’s in size 3 diapers.
-He has 4 6-7oz bottles of breast milk during the day and 1 7oz bottle of formula before bed. The first 3 bottles of the day are about 4 hours apart and the last two are clustered at about 2 hours apart.
-Every once in a while, I’ll nurse him and he does great.
- He is a happy, happy one. He usually only cries if he’s sleepy or wants to be held.
- He will do a short little laugh if tickled, but won’t repeat it if you tickle him again in the same spot!
- He is very generous with his smiles and grins. His smile could light up the world. So very sweet.
-He loves his swing, bumbo, and his bouncy chair. He is getting started in the exersaucer and likes it, too.
-He still naps between each bottle at some point. Usually there’s one long (2+hours) one and 3 shorter ones, including a supper nap around 5pm.
-Around 6:30/7, he has a bath (which he loves) and then it’s bottle/songs and crib.
- He started sleeping through the night (11+ hours) around 14 weeks. About a week or so ago, he started waking up once in the night again every other night or so. Sometimes it's around 1 and sometimes it's around 4. I feed him and he goes back to sleep just fine. Surely it's just a phase (fingers crossed). (I don't feed him or get him unless he's actually crying for more than 5 minutes or so, not just fussing).
He is not swaddled anymore and sleeps in a sleep sack.
-He sucks his thumb to get to sleep and when he's sleepy throughout the day (LOVE IT).
-He is drooling a lot and is constantly putting his fists in his mouth.
-His one tooth is hanging tight :)
-His hair is starting to fill in some and is light brown.
-His eyes are big like his brother's, but are more of a hazel color. Greenish brown, more green some days. They're beautiful.
-He loves talking and really does think he’s saying something you can understand. I love having “conversations” with Hamp.
-He loves to watch Jake and thinks he is the best thing.
-He brings so much joy to us every day!
-He is the CUTEST baby in the world and we are so thankful for a HAPPY and HEALTHY baby boy!
His 4 month check up went very well. Dr. Castles is pleased with Hamp's steady growth and with everything he's been up to! It never gets old hearing that your baby is healthy!
He gave the green light for introducing solids and recommended we start with rice cereal once or twice a day then moving on to stage 1 baby foods, one color at a time, giving each food at least 48 hours to make sure there are no allergies before introducing something new. I forgot how complicated that process is! :)
I think now a lot of pediatricians are saying it's not necessary to start with rice cereal, but Dr Castles is old school and plus it worked well for Jake. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
